The front-wheel-drive Saab 96 made the brand into a rally icon in the 1960s. Superstar driving from Erik Carlsson, his wife Pat Moss-Carlsson and - later - from Stig Blomqvist, all brought real publicity and admiration for a car that always lacked the sheer straight-line performance of its rivals. Saabs like this, however, never wanted for strength, or for amazing handling and traction, and they succeeded in events as diverse as the Monte Carlo, Britain's RAC rally, special stage events in every Scandinavian country, and the rough-and-tough Spa-Sofia-Liege Marathon. The big change came in 1967, when the 96 became the V4, looking almost the same as before, but with a new and more powerful four-stroke Ford-Germany V4 engine. Works cars continued to be competitive in carefully chosen events for many years, and it was only the arrival of much more specialised rivals that made them outdated. Saab, though, was not finished with rallying, as the V4's successors, the much larger and more powerful 99 and 99 Turbo types, proved. More than any other car of its era, the 96 and V4 models proved that front-wheel-drive allied to true superstar driving could produce victory where no-one expected it.

This book contains a portfolio of international articles, covering the cream of the Type 10 to the Type 251 Bugatti, stories written by knowledgeable and entertaining writers. The first real Bugatti was the Type 13. Production began in 1910 and lasted through 1920, with 435 examples produced. Later came the Royale, of which only six were made. The type 57 and later variants, of which 710 were built including the famous Atlantic and Atalante models, were built between 1934 and 1940. The final resurgence of the original Bugatti was the Type 251, completed in 1955 and designed by Gioacchino Colombo of Ferrari fame. The Type 251 was entered in the 1956 French Grand Prix, but was not competitive and retired after 18 laps.

Boken er skrevet mellom mars 2008 og mai 2009. Altså over ett år med bare skriving. Boken er basert på Finn's egne memoarer og noen av disse er også flettet inn i boken som sitater. Research er gjort via intervjuer med gjenlevende jagerpiloter og Finn's enke Gurli, og hans datter Ellen. 332's egen dagbok/operation record book fra krigen har også vært til stor hjelp. I memoarene fra 1993-1994 forteller blant annet Finn om udaterte hendelser over kontinentet. Det har vært min jobb å finne disse toktene i 332's dagbøker for å så sjekke de opp mot hans memoarer for historisk korrekthet. Stort sett har jeg greid å finne hendelsene Finn så levende forteller om. Jeg husker blant annet han skrev om et tokt som eskorte for bombefly over Frankrike. Han skriver i memoarene at skvadronen startet på et visst tidspunkt. Jeg undersøkte meg frem til riktig måned, men greide ikke finne absolutt korrekt tid for take-off, ingen av toktene i 1943 startet akkurat på det tidspunktet, så jeg måtte gå utifra at toktet han snakket om startet fem minutter senere enn hva Finn mente i teksten sin! Så detaljert har jeg gått ned i tekstene, for å skape et så riktig bilde av hendelsene som mulig. Ved hjelp av disse kildene på nettet, har det også vært mulig å oppnå.

Although the Junkers Tri-motor would never achieve the fame and widespread use as its American counterpart, The C-47 Skytrain, it would still carve its niche in the annals of history. Starting life as a single engined machine it quickly added a pair of engines to its corrugated frame at the behest of the German airline DLH. The emergent Luftwaffe would soon latch onto the type using it as a bomber, albeit disguised as a transport by the Legion Condor. Having performed well in Spain the Ju 52 was then built in large numbers as a transport for Germany's 'adventures' across the world between 1939 to 1945. After the war, in both France and Spain production would continue and the aircraft saw combat operations in Vietnam and Morocco.
